The department has taken up consultancy works from various organizations and also is in the process of acquiring few more consultancy services. The department has the potential to take up consultancy in the area of Instrumentation, Automation, Electronic System Design and Commissioning. Calibration Facility of ISO standard is available in the department to calibrate the parameters Temperature, Pressure, Voltage, and Current.

Student activities
  • Instrument Society of India (ISOI), GITAM student chapter: ISOI GITAM student chapter started in the year 2009 with its head office at IISC Bangalore. Every year under this chapter, student workshops and guest lectures by experts from industry and academic institutes are organized.
  • Interface: A national level technical student fest is organized every year. Robotic Workshops are also conducted during this event.
  • Social events Swatch Barath program is organized at Tenneti Park, Visakhapatnam at regular intervals. Blood donation programs are also organized every year.
